Postpartum

Postpartum care was the original purpose of vaginal steam treatments by indigenous cultures around the globe. This is a long time traditional practice of midwives and elders of Africa, India, Korea, the Caribbean islands and many other regions that traditionally practice holistic health care.

Traditionally new mothers would enjoy a vaginal steam treatment every day for 30 days for 30 minutes a day. Most women experience no bleeding or limited spotting after the first week. The vaginal canal feels much tighter and fresher similar to the refreshing feeling of getting a facial. Bloating and stomach pain is reduced within the first two weeks, and eliminated much sooner than regular postpartum practices of staying on or near your bed.

It is recommended that your do your first vaginal steam treatment once the bleeding has subsided and on a weekly basis until your first menstrual cycle.
