From Postpartum Struggles to a Global Mission: My Journey as a Fertility Doula

When I think about the moment everything shifted for me, it wasn’t during a planned event or a doctor’s appointment. It was a conversation—a seed of wisdom planted in love—that changed my life.

The Struggle That Led Me to Traditional Womb Care

After giving birth, I found myself hemorrhaging for months. I was bedridden. Scared. Wearing incontinence pads daily because of the excessive bleeding caused by fibroids. My energy was gone. My hope was slipping. Surgery felt like the only option left.

Then, out of nowhere, one of my brothers called me.

“I’ve been researching your condition,” he said. “There’s this traditional African practice called yoni steaming…”

I had never heard of it before. Sitting over steaming herbs? For reproductive health? It sounded… different. But what struck me more than the suggestion was the care behind it. He had taken time out of his day to research my suffering. He wasn’t afraid to talk about something most people shy away from.

That conversation didn’t just offer information—it offered possibility.

It planted a seed.

Discovering the Power of Yoni Steaming

I couldn’t try steaming at the time because I was still bleeding, but I never forgot that conversation. After surgery, I dug deeper. I studied. I trained. I traveled. And eventually, I opened Canada’s first official yoni spa, offering fertility support, traditional womb care, and postpartum recovery services.

That seed grew into my life’s work.

Healing Women Across Canada and Beyond

Since then, I’ve helped hundreds of women find healing through holistic methods—women who were told IVF was their only option, women who hadn’t had a cycle in months, women who wanted to avoid invasive surgeries. Some came from across Canada and the U.S. just to receive care.

The demand quickly became more than I could handle alone.

Planting Seeds Through the Hydro Doula Training Program

That’s when I knew: this seed couldn’t just grow in my garden. It had to spread.

I created the Hydro Doula Training Program, a specialized doula training in the art of traditional yoni steaming, certifying women across the country to carry this healing practice into their communities. Now, this work is multiplying. Changing lives. Creating legacy.

Lessons in Wisdom and Healing

Here’s what I’ve learned:
Wisdom doesn’t always come from the “experts.” Sometimes it comes from:

  • The brother who researches natural medicine

  • The elder who remembers ancestral practices

  • The friend who shares an unexpected remedy

  • The stranger who speaks truth at the right time

Who in your life has ever planted a seed like that? The kind of seed that seems small at first but transforms everything later?

Let’s give thanks for those voices—the ones who show up in our darkest moments with unexpected light.

Your Next Step:If you feel called to become a holistic healer, explore my Hydro Doula Certification Program and join women across Canada who are reviving and sharing the art of traditional yoni steaming. Together, we can carry these seeds of wisdom into every community.
